As a Southerner in California costume i can attest that while the inverse is instantly sniffed out, you CAN take grits to a coastal party and call them polenta. I’ve pulled it off many times.
Coastal Sara is a hoot, though I suspect Iowa Sara is as well. I've never heard the phrase, 'she's a deal!' on either coast...but I like it and will now include it at least once in my Cleveland set series!!
